Gangsters, Bodies and Wild Beasts

Gangsters, Bodies and Wild Beasts

Everybody’s feeling scared
remembering the year gone past
the rains are back
the streets are flooding
the head-lines are screaming
armed gunmen robbed the bank
terror strikes the heart
but the talk on the street is the weather
the rains are back again

The holidays are looming
the forecast is bleak
will it be five days of freedom
or a long weekend locked inside?
for the rains are back again
they’re fishing for an answer
they pulled a headless corpse from the sea
but that’s just tittle-tattle
the worries are clear
the rains are back again

The sailors are complaining
the golfers raising sand
they say the greens are ruined
and the fairways are a state
the rains are back again
they police are chasing phantoms
around the course and more
they say a wild boar is on the loose
but wilder tales are heard
what if it never stops like last winter we recall?
the rains are back again
