Savoury Puff Pastry Pizza-Style Tart or Tartlets

Serves 4 – 12 (depending on size made)

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry
  • Tomato sauce
  • grated cheese of your choice
  • 3 skinless sausages pinched into mini-meatballs
  • 2 rashers of bacon
  • 1 spring onion head
  • ½ red pepper
  • ½ green pepper
  • 3-4 mushrooms
  • salt, pepper, dried chopped parsley

 

Method:

  • pre-heat the oven to 200°C
  • roll out the pastry and divide into 4 or 6 or 12 depending on the number and size of tarts you want
  • separate the pastry squares so all will rise
  • spread a dollop of tomato sauce on each square
  • add grated cheese
  • lay the rest of the ingredients onto the tartlets evenly
  • season, sprinkle with parsley
  • place on a non-stick tray or if on baking parchment straight on to the bottom rack of the oven
  • bake for 10-15 minutes until cooked and the pastry is golden and well risen
  • Serve or  cool on a cooling rack and save for later
  • So simple – so delicious!
